Week in Action

Classroom 1 – This week we took a closer look at Canada and the United States of America. We also looked at the differences between a lake and an island. Below you will see pictures of children exploring the map of the United States, types of mushrooms, and parts of a root. Also, types of bees, wasps, and pollination.

Classroom 2 – This week ‘Li’ took the children on a journey to China and shared the culture, food, family, clothes, and festivals of the region. We also continued studying ants, butterflies, praying mantis, grasshoppers, and their life cycles. Below you will find students working on various Montessori materials.

Classroom 3 – This week we continued our study of Asia by learning about India. We had Madhu and Ani our visitors that shared their experiences and traditions. The children loved to hear all of their information. We also started learning about our bodies. The children loved exploring Fred the Skeleton.

Week in Action

Classroom 1 – This week, students studied North America, bees, and plants. Below you will see pictures of children exploring North America, see to plant, the life cycle of a honey bee, weaving, finding what’s different, and colors in nature.

Classroom 2 – This week the class finished the study of Europe with a presentation on London and Switzerland. Below you will see pictures of students exploring materials from all areas of the classroom.

Classroom 3 – This week they started the study of Mammals. Students studied the characteristics, and parts of a horse and learned about other mammals on the farm. They also got a presentation about ‘Money’ and the names and value of different coins.

Week in Action

Classroom 1 – Students continued their study of volcanoes and did their own eruption experiments. They were also excited to get hands-on experience with Van Gogh’s art and created dinosaur skeletons out of pasta. Nikolaj and Dhathri celebrated their birthday with the class as well.

Classroom 2 – The class continued their study of birds with an intrduction to characteristics of an owl, and the different kinds of owls. They were also introduced to magnets and classification of magnetic and non magnetic materials. Below you will find pictures of them working on various shelf materials available to them.

Classroom 3 – This week the class finished the study of Antarctica. The children did a blubber experiment, painted with ice, and learned the parts of a penguin. On Thursday they were introduced to the Continent of Asia. The class learned about plants and animals that are common to Asia
