Maria Montessori observed that children have an innate ability to absorb information during these critical periods and they play a key role in how Montessori education is implemented.

Montessori Week
Monday– We talked about the Environment. The children wore their cute hats while cleaning the classroom, washing their shoe racks, weeding the garden, sweeping the sidewalks, filling feeders, and cleaning the bird baths.
Tuesday- We talked about Community. We had a visit from the fire department and invited our Parents to visit the class.
Wednesday- We talked about Self. Children dressed up as their favorite book characters which gave us an insight into stories they like to listen to. We were able to read all of the books brought in.
Thursday- We explored different Cultures.
Friday- We talked about Peace. We talked about what is Peace and how they could be Peace Keepers. We made Peace flower headbands, gathered with the other primary classes to sing March for Peace, and ate popsicles. We were also visited by a Dentist. It was a fun end to our busy week.
